On Sunday, March 24, 2019, I removed 40 neckties from eBay and moved them to our website, Fazoom.com, instead.

The majority of neckties that are listed on eBay should be considered “long tail” inventory. They will sell, but typically not at a fast pace unless you want to give them away. Due to this, the new Good ‘Til Cancelled requirement & because we are decreasing our eBay presence in 2019, this is the perfect time to make the move.

Fazoom Buildout & Roadmap

I’ll go more in-depth on the Fazoom.com buildout and road map as time goes on, but the gist is that we want the majority of our sales to run through the website by 2020 and will use the other platforms such as eBay & Etsy for specific items that are better suited for those platforms. We did this with our previous website some years back, so we’re well aware of the hard work that lies ahead. But in the end, it’s well worth it.

Listing wise, we were sitting at around 1,600 unique listings on eBay at the end of 2018. Right now we’re sitting at around 1,300 unique listings on eBay. We’re aiming to be down to around 600 by the end of 2019.

At the moment we have around 750 unique items listed on Fazoom.com and aim to have 2,500 listed by the end of 2019. We have some work to do, but I already have the inventory on hand to get there.
